Movie stars Robert Downey Jr., who plays a small-time crook who landed a role in a upcoming movie while escaping from the cops. He's also the self-aware narrator of the movie. Val Kilmer plays Gay Perry, who was a private detective hired by the producers to train Harry in the ways of sleuthing. Michelle Monaghan is Harmony, Harry's childhood friend whom he's got the hots for. (Not hard to see why.) She's convinced he's a P.I. and asks him to investigate the death of his sister, which seems to be related to the murder of an heiress. Things get very complicated from here on, so I'll just stop here and let you watch the movie.
