Story of a mortician with a sixth sense (as in "I see dead people.") and a car accident victim who can't tell whether she's dead or alive.So mortician Liam Neeson keeps Christina Ricci mostly naked and locked up in his workplace. He convinces her that she died during that car accident, and the reason they can talk is that he has a gift. He tells her that her soul's still around because she's not letting go. The suspense in this movie comes from trying to guess whether she's really alive or dead. There was a time when she checks her own pulse and feels none. One time a police officer visits the funeral parlor, gropes her naked body, but she didn't wake up. Another time her breathing produces some moisture on the mirror.
He drugs her into unconsciousness and buries her alive six feet under. He then insinuates to her grieving boyfriend that maybe she's still alive inside the coffin. The agitated boyfriend drives crazily towards the cemetery and crashes his car. Another victim for the self-righteous mortician.
