Landscape Plan

Landscape design is done by EcoDesign. They emailed me three templates, and I'm supposed to choose which one I like best. EcoDesign will then adapt the design to fit my particular lot. Having no idea what those trees and shrubs are, their characteristics, and how many are required, I simply chose one that matches my lot the most, and told the landscape architect to reduce the tree/shrub count to the bare minimum. Low maintenance works best for me.

Look Back Video Download

So you think that Look Back movie is the best thing to come out of Facebook since Timeline, and you want to make a copy of it.

Normally, I would simply go to my browser cache, and grab the mp4 file from there. For a 1-minute video, the filesize is about 2MB. Too small. Checking the Chrome cache, it looks like the video is being served by Akamai. Maybe Facebook is simply using the low-res version.

To download the source video, go back to the Chrome cache, and do a search (Ctrl-F) for "https://loopbackvideo". Click on the URL, to go to the video, then Ctrl-S to save. This time I got a 5MB video file, which is much better.

Facebook Look Back

So Facebook is celebrating it's 10th anniversary, and it's gifting everyone with a personalized Look Back movie. According to Facebook, "A Look Back is an experience that compiles your highlights since joining Facebook. Depending on how long you’ve been on Facebook and how much you’ve shared, you’ll see a movie, a collection of photos or a thank you card."

To view your Look Back movie, simply go to https://facebook.com/lookback

A few days later, Facebook launched an editor for Look Back. Maybe you didn't like the photos or posts that Facebook auto-selected. Or maybe you think you can do a better job. Go back to the Look Back link, and there should now be a new Edit button, or just head to https://facebook.com/lookback/edit

Don't expect a full-featured editor though. This one simply lets you choose posts and photos from a small selection. Click on Update or Share to generate your new Look Back video.

Land Contract

Went to my solicitor's office to sign the land contract from Leppington Pastoral Company Pty Limited. He actually received the contract since last Dec. 9, but for various reasons, it's only ready today. Signed some papers and paid the 5% deposit by personal cheque.
