Third movie for the day. Another Rene Zellweger film. Strictly speaking, Me, Myself & Irene is two-thirds Jim Carrey and one-third Rene. Jim plays mild-mannered Charlie, who's a model police officer. His marries the smartest girl in town, who later elopes with a vertically-challenged black Mensa midget. He puts up a brave front - going on with his life as if nothing happened, and taking care of the three black children his ex-wife left behind. The townsfolk takes advantage of his non-confrontational, meek personality until he can take it no longer, and Hank takes over. Hank is his violent alter ego. Together they try to save Irene from the clutches of her criminal ex-boyfriend and some corrupt police officers.
The storyline is not the most complex around, but the movie has its laugh-out-loud moments. Jim Carrey is in his element doing the sight gags. As for Rene, she looks good whether she's smiling or scowling.
