People have made comparisons between this book and Dan Brown's Da Vinci Code, but personally I think they're not of the same league. The Rule of Four is much harder to read: the going is slower, a lot of details and references are mentioned, but not explained; unlike Da Vinci Code where Langdon goes about explaining everything.
If you want a quick read and non-stop suspense/action, then go for DVC. I've been reading ROF for a couple of days now. Have to take a break after every few pages to digest the information. I'm already past the middle of the book, and the Hypnerotomachia Poliphili is just starting to reveal its secrets.
