Book 2010.04.23 - Superfreakonomics

As can be deduced from the title, this is the sequel (some would say, Freakquel) to the hugely popular Freakonomics. This time, we see authors Steven Levitt and Stephen J. Dubner tackle heavy issues such as:
  • Are street prostitutes better off using the services of pimps?
  • How to identify a possible suicide bomber out of thousands of suspects? (Hint: these guys don't buy life insurance.)
  • Why do people still insist on chemotherapy when it so rarely works?
  • Are people naturally altruistic or selfish?
  • Does watching TV cause an increase in crime rates?
  • Why the Mount Pinatubo explosion is actually a good thing (for global warming)?
  • Do monkeys know the value of money (and what they do with it)?
